Information

The semi-circular chancel has been accentuated by a mural in yellow and grey stripes that emphasises the centre. In addition the artist designed the cross, altar and tabernacle as steel constructions with blue sand-blasted glass that provide adjustable lighting.

The floor plan for the altar room consists of a semicircle with a radius of two-and-a-half metres. The design of this area is related to the room itself and the sacred objects in it. The cross, the altar and the tabernacle are glass constructions that can be illuminated. The space is divided by a centralised painting arranged in strips on the walls and displaying yellow and grey tones. The wide range of variations in the illumination changes the atmosphere and aura of the space. The clear, transparent design creates a cool and remote effect and establishes a tension with the warm yellow tones of the wall painting.
