Information

Gunter Damisch made a large scale painting measuring 800cm x 260cm for the entrance hall of the home for the elderly at Neunkirchen. The works featuring the artist's well know stile with it's bright colours covers the entire wall near the entrance.

The entrance hall of the home for the elderly was to receive a large scale painting as a focal point for the lobby. The work covers the entire wall near the entrance and can be seen from all parts of the atrium. A door in the wall is framed by the painting, edges and corners are incorporated. The painting is predominantly yellow, on the left hand side there is an agglomeration of globe like shapes which becomes less dense towards the centre and gives way to openness, resuming its concentration towards the right. Here, the agglomeration takes on the shape of a figure, an onlooker pointing the attention to the centre of the hall. The painting has been done in oil on canvas, with an aluminium frame. The work was mounted on site and measures 800cm x 260cm.
